Life changes fast; we might have an office switch from downtown to Norcross. Where would you live for the best public schools (especially middle and high) and best commute to Norcross? We may stay where we are even if it happens, but I want to look at other options, since part of staying put includes private school tuition. I've been looking at Google maps and finding few commute options under 20 mins. Thanks in advance for ideas!

There's a lot of diversity in Norcross. You looking to rent or buy? What's your budget? There are some great n'hoods in the Peachtree Corners area (30092), but some really shady areas too in other areas of Norcross. Simpson Elementary is one of the best schools in Gwinnett, but I've heard that Peachtree Elementary is lacking (no first-hand experience, just word of mouth). I think that Norcross HS is supposed to be pretty good these days. Doesn't sound like you're looking for private school, but Wesleyan and GAC are nearby.

What the Budget? Where are you currently at? If you want good schools, I'd say take a look at Johns Creek.

Currently in Buckhead, budget up to 800K, prefer 700K. I looked at Johns Creek, but in mapping it for directions, it seems commute would take nearly as long as it would from Buckhead. (However the better public schools are a plus.)
Thanks for help!

With that budget, I would definitely look at Peachtree Corners (30092). There's a lot of cute neighborhoods right around the Forum shopping center going from Spalding to Peachtree Parkway. A little north into Duluth near Atlanta Athletic Club would be convenient too.

Peachtree Cornors seems like a better fit, and you can get a great house for that price. If you want J.C., focus on the neighborhoods around Atlanta Athletic Club on Peachtree Pkwy. Not sure what schools they are zoned for, but at least you can avoid the traffic arond Regal. Does anyone know what Pinckney Middle is like?

Based on what you have posted so far and your other criteria, I recommend the following areas:

1. Peachtree Corners

2. The Parkview High Cluster

3. The Brookwood High Cluster

I would consider staying put. Norcross can be a relatively easy commute from downtown (~15 miles) if the office location is close to the highway.

As one other poster has already said, western Norcross that abuts Roswell and Johns Creek is (in my opinion) nicer than the section of Norcross east of I-85

You might also want to look at places in eastern Roswell zoned for Centennial High School along Holcomb Br Rd. I just moved from this area.

To the OP:

Like Tarzanman said, I also recommend East Roswell--The Centennial High Cluster based on your criteria.
