My husband is considering a job in Norcross. We've found a house we like in Dacula but hear the commute might be horrible? Also found one in Cumming, but hear that commute might be nighmarish as well. Where to live?!!!!!!!!!

I was just up in this area---I can't name specific roads but it shouldn't be a bad commute. He could find a time ahead of the peak traffic--and it's not a long commute. Cumming is only about 10 miles or so from Norcross--I think Peachtree Industrial Blvd turns into state road ??? and that shouldn't be difficult.

Maybe he could use I985==not sure where it connects to I85 but it should help traffic some. Around Dacula--there is 316 --stays busy because of all the Athens traffic I assume. Maybe that is why they say the traffic is bad?
Lawrenceville Hwy might be a better route--somebody will know.

Beautiful area--did you look around Gainesville --close to Cumming and Oakwood, Flowery Branch and Buford?

Lots of great places to live--

LOL--I drove across Brown's Bridge--Forsyth County/Suwanee and stopped at an unpaved road to let my dog walk around. Drove down to the end and saw absolute mansions--there is one for sale--$3.3 million. :-) My friend said maybe that's where some Atlanta Falcons live--their training facility is near there.

Default thank you !

thanks for all of your input, i will look into your suggestions. yes, his boss lives in flowery branch and his commute is 1 hr 15 min or so - he said their realtor said 400 and 316 were the worst (traffic) roads so he told her don't even look there. this house in dacula we are looking at is a bargain and homeowner says that area is growing... its just so hard not knowing neighborhoods, what people are like, etc! and i'm 7 1/2 mo. preg. so i can't go down to look!! AGAIN, I APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT !!!!!

Get a map and look at Peachtree Industrial--around Cumming it becomes 'State Rd #?' but I still think it moves better than other roads.

I drove all through last week--at off peak times--the traffic was not 'Much' compared to what I encounter in Atlanta--I know people leave early --about 5 AM--and until around 9AM it is Stop and Go--on all roads.

Then they leave Atlanta about 3:30 and head north --sometimes that can take as much as 4 hours if there is construction or an accident --I85 North.

Gotta be some back roads. The realtor should be able to help you with this.

Good Luck--I know you will be glad to be settled in. Great area for kids. Enjoy.
