Hello,

Looking to move to Austell, Georgia within the next yr or so? Looking for a nice townhouse/condo, great environment. I have 4 kids, So great schools, parks, and sports for kids. (YMCA or something) Also, let me know of crime in Austell. Hopefully the schools does not abide with the standardized testing for kids.(promote to next grade or fail test) I am sick of that here in B. R. Any advice you have would be helpful.

Thanks
cheygirl

To my knowledge all schools here now use standardized tests in order to pass to the next grade, or level.

Austell is "ok". Some crime, older more run down than some other areas. Not a lot of apartments that are large enough to handle adults and four kids, though. Some counties here are now starting to adopt laws that only allow a certain number of people in a home or apartment based on the number of bedrooms. This is mainly due to immigrants who will come in with 25 people to a house/apartment, but applies to folks who try to cram 5 kids into a 2BR unit as well. So ask around before making any commitments.
