The Klu Klux Klan are ready to adopt a highway. How you fell about this?

KKK Wants to Adopt A Highway - Rochester, News, Weather, Sports, and Events - 13WHAM.com

Quote:
Georgia - The Ku Klux Klan has applied to adopt a stretch of highway in northern Georgia, setting off a battle between a state representative condemning the application and the group's ardent but anonymous leaders.
"The state of Georgia is absolutely shameful in even considering an application from the KKK," Democratic Georgia State Representative Tyrone Brooks told ABCNews.com. "If the state will accept an application from the KKK, we may as well get ready to accept applications from the Nazi party, Taliban, Al Qaeda and Aryan Nation

I think it's a stupid outdated organization grasping at straws and trying to stay relevant by generating a headline.

And we fell right into its trap.

Let them adopt it. Do you know much fun it would be to drive down the highway at 90 mph while dumping used ebony and jet magazines on the highway?!?!?

Blairsville isn't really in the Atlanta metro (and thank goodness it isn't with nutcases like this).

While I definitely don't agree with the KKK, I don't believe the state will be able to legally say no. The unfortunate outcome of this is going to be that the entire program will be disbanded and our highways will now become that much dirtier.

No it isn't and it's not even close. I know Metro Atlanta seems like it goes on forever, but Blairsville and Union County is most definitely NOT in Metro Atlanta. Not by the Census definition (which is the only one that counts) nor by the local perception.
