We are moving to Atlanta and have a super short time frame for finding a house. My husband will be working at Piedmont Center and we are trying to place with short commute time. How far would the Sagamore Hills area be in rush hour? It's only 6 miles away but I know that does not mean a lot.
Thanks

Your husband might be able to figure out an alternate route that works for him, winding through different residential neighborhoods, but the most direct route would probably be North Druid Hills Road, which is extremely congested during rush hour. I haven't ever timed that drive during rush hour, so I can't say for sure, but I'd certainly give it 30 minutes during rush hour -- more like 10-15 minutes the rest of the day, depending on the lights.

You're making a wise choice to live so close to work. He'll have pretty good access by MARTA too, if he's interested.

Great neighborhood.

I agree with this, although I might shave 5-10 min off the rush hour estimate. We live near N DeKalb Mall and it takes about 30 minutes in rush hour from our house; in Sagamore you'd be that much closer. I'd consider LaVista as an alternative to N. Druid Hills, especially since it turns into Lindbergh and brings you straight to Piedmont.

Yes, unfortunately NDH is the commuter connection between Buckhead/Midtown and Gwinnett and is jammed during rush hour.
What I would consider is La Vista Rd towards town and then right on Piedmont. No route is perfect but unlike NDH the commuter traffic is largely local.
