As someone who is looking to move in that area and is single thought I'd bump this thread and see how Rift's experience has been so far! Did you decide to live in Duluth/Suwanee area? How has it been meeting new people/women?

I will be working in Duluth so any advise on living in Doraville/Dunwoody? I don't really want to pay over $800 so I'm in more or less the same situation as you were so any suggestions would be great! : )

Duluth is trying to step up nightlife. With the opening of Eddie Owen presents, at least one new tavern is slated to open soon to take advantage of foot traffic after shows let out. The city is really behind the idea of trying to turn downtown Duluth into an area with at least some nightlife.

I'm not suggesting it's ever going to be the preferred hangout for a single person as it will probably always cater to couples and older folks, but at least it's something.

Living in Duluth is fine, you'll just find yourself commuting to midtown occasionally for nightlife. It's okay, most of the revelers in bars and clubs in Atlanta don't actually live near them. Atlanta has it's own "bridge and tunnel" crowd.

I went to a midtown club a few months ago and there was some people there from Dalton, I was just like wow.

If you ever go to Wild Bill's near Gwinnett Place Mall, people actually come from South Carolina to go there. Yes, SOUTH CAROLINA!

I bet some people come from that far to go to midtown as well. Look at this way....if you live in Duluth, at least you can go out without having to get a hotel room for the night! Though if you ever want to, you can Priceline excellent hotels intown for dirt cheap. I always say, what's better....a $70 hotel bill, or a $10,000 DUI?
