We have a baby. Look for a place good to raise Children. Good schools, low crimes, Asian /or culture-diversity oriented community is a plus.
Of course commute is also important. I hate spending 2 hrs on driving at highways.

I will choose to be renting first and then buying (single home, pre-tax hh income 13K) in the near 2 years if we are happy with the 'around'.

Any advice?

Maybe Midtown --you would be going against traffic, your DH with it. Is there no way you can both work in the same city?

Thanks lastminutemom.

There is little chance for me to get an employment in LagRange due to my expertise/skills. My husband might be getting one in Atlanta but it will be most likely in 5-years future.

I currently live in Sandy Springs and we like it but hard for my hubby.

Midtown or any where close to the connector would be good. I used to go to LaGrange often on business for weeks at a time and I live in Smyrna. I think door to door it was just over an hour but what made it easy was that I had little to no traffic stops.

Over an hour would be tought for 5 years but if you can get further south than me and try to cut off say 20 minutes, it would be managable (recommend a good travel coffee mug and satellite radio).

You must mean pre-tax income 130k, right?

Midtown is not going to be a cakewalk at all. Midtown - Airport is 20 minutes door to door, and you're looking at 60 miles past there. That's a really rough commute, depending on where exactly in LaGrange he is.

The problem is there isn't much that fits you needs going south--not too many Asians on the south side at all. Also, if you go south of Midtown, your commute will bcome a LOT worse (battling the connector northbound in the morning is not for the faint-hearted; oh yeah....make sure to vote for the transit tax!).

I recommend the Smyrna/Vinings/Mableton area.

Well the good thing is if she does live in this area, she can just jump on Fulton Industrial and it takes u straight to hwy 29 which runs right into LaGrange. During rush hour its probably a lot quicker than getting on 85.
