My husband and I really fell in love with a house in Hoschton.
Does anyone know much about that area? The house is in a subdivision called The gates of Braselton.

We are an African-American family with two children aged 6 and 7. Originally when we decided to move we were looking in a pre-dominately black area, but kept getting out-bidded on the houses we liked. After finding a house we liked in Hoschton, we are considering this area.

When we went out there I didn't notice a lot of people of color, which is fine. I just don't want to be one of the only few African-American families in the area? Any opinions and information on this area would be greatly appreciated.

Also, is this a fmily-friendly area?
My children are homeschooled so we are not that concerned about the schools in the area.

Thanks!

Hi Atlanta Bound.
I lived in the Hoschton (and its pronounced like Push-ton - only with an H) and Braselton area for about ten years and just recently moved back in town.

Both of these areas are predominately Caucasian areas that are working on acceptance and diversity.

The area where the Gates of Braselton is located has little to no crime, great shopping areas, and easy access to the interstate system. If you have to commute to work, the traffic is still pretty light in the Hoschton area but the traffic back up starts early just 2 exits south.

The school system is in definite need of help but since you home school, this should not be an issue.

Hope this helps
