Hey Guys,
Thinking about moving to ATL. Cascade have homes for 450k that would easily cost 1.2 mil in NJ! I recently saw a place called Audobon Estates that blew me away! But the surrounding area is THE WORST! Who would pick such a place to build? The houses are amazing, but I couldnt trust living in that enviorment! What do you guys think? Can I get that kind of home in Camp Creek? And is Camp Creek much better? Or worst?

Why Cascade or Camp Creek? Housing will be comparatively inexpensive (when compared to NJ) in most parts of the Atlanta metro.

I don't know that particular subdivision but the Audubon Forest area in general is terrific. Many prominent Atlantans live there. It probably has the best greenspace options in the city, with the the Lionel Hampton Preserve, Adams Park, Cascade Springs Nature Preserve, John A. White, et al.

Additionally, the city just spent a massive amount of money to acquire new greenspace land in that area, especially along Utoy Creek.

I think the part of Cascade that the OP is talking about is not the same as the Adams Park/Utoy Creek area. Cascade/Camp Creek is right between the Atlanta Airport and going down Camp Creek the other way, you end up in Lithia Springs.

I love this side of town, personally. This has historically been an underdeveloped part of town. Lots of people are moving here now, though. Great area.

The neighborhood that he is speaking off is off Cascade Rd/Avenue, if memory serves correctly. Its the gated neighborhood that is a little bit back from Cascade Springs Park (a very nice and underused park)

Not that rough of an area imho but I do agree, they are some rough pockets in the area but its some nice homes all along Cascade Ave/Rd...

Actually it appears that the neighborhood he's talking about is at Cascade and Willis Mill, which is in the Adams Park/Utoy Creek area.

You may be thinking of the Cascade/Camp Creek area outside the Perimeter (near Boat Rock). Also very nice.
