Really, wrong answer. Drive to the MARTA train station if you must, but don't drive to the airport.

The train is probably overall safer than driving, and much cheaper.

My parents live in Atlanta, when I visit I take the train to Doraville where they pick me up.

Atlanta traffic is so bad if you insist on driving to the airport I suggest you live in Augusta and commute in by air. Seriously.

Skybox78 - any luck? My husband and I are in the same boat. Moving to atlanta to work at the airport starting at the end of this month. We are looking to rent at first - but we are having a difficult time finding the right city. We HATE traffic, would prefer majority caucasian, want a safe area with middle to upper class living. People I have spoke with suggest:

Peachtree city
Newnan
Smyrna

I have also looked at places in Kennesaw - but I don't know the traffic situation to the airport.

Just wondering if you have made any progress - looks like we are looking for the same thing. We don't have kids yet and are in our upper 20s.

Good luck!

I have a friend who is gay and he and his partner live in Jefferson Park which is in East Point (EP). They are homeowners however. I don't know what the rental situation is in EP in terms of apts, townhouses, condos, etc.

Also, there is College Park and there is Historic College Park, almost two different worlds. Again Historic College Park is lovely but rentals may be houses, not apts or condos, I am not sure of the rental scene in historic college park.
