I'm intrigued by these stores. Do they offer true bargains over retail shops or Walmart? What's you experience and which are the best stores to visit??

There's a lot of outlet stores in Gwinnett, at Discover Mills - depends on what you're looking for. Of course, I don't believe WalMart sells Levi jeans (I could be mistaken) so in a case like that, the outlet store beats them out.

There's also a big outlet area in Dawsonville as well. I'm not sure about outlets in 'Atlanta' proper.

The Dawsonville outlets are great, but you have to understand that much of what they sell is made for the outlets and not found in stores. Check out their website for coupons, store sales before you go. Their stores include some of my favs- Ralph Lauren, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, J Crew, Restoration Hardware. The best time to go is before a holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, etc).

My suggestion is to pick an outlet that you want to go to. Check out their website ( some have deals posted on thier sites ) see what stores are there. Then check sites like Coupon cabin or Retailmenot to see what in store coupons that they have for the stores that you are interested in. Curently one deal I know of is 15 % off a purchase of $100.00 from Reebok.
For a few minutes of planning ahead , you can save alot of money at these places.
