What are the best hole in the wall places to get cheap tile and countertops? I don't know exactly what I need yet, but it's for a very tiny kitchen and I have time to shop around. I have been to the Habitat ReStore (and plan to go back) and I know vaguely "in Dalton" is a good place, but I wonder if there are any little places on the west side I could stop in once a week or so until I find what I am looking for.

Have you been over to Builders Surplus on S. Atlanta Road? We've found some great deals on cabinets, countertops, tile and plumbing gizmos. Everything is pretty cheap to begin with but if you can find a special markdown you can really make out. An outstanding selection of doors, too.

Arjay, that looks interesting. I'll check it out. Thanks!

I have bought tile from Floor and Decor Outlet. Their selection is really impressive and the prices are way cheaper than Home Depot and Lowes. There are a couple of locations in Atlanta.

jematl is spot on. The Floor and Decor on 85 between N. Druid Hills and Clairmont has a great selection of relatively inexpensive flooring, cabinet surface and other such materials.
