Spanish is used for the date, for the time, for money (up to a certain amount), and to tell age. This has been my experience.
I grew up in Manila and everyone uses Spanish and Tagalog numbers for date/time/money/age/etc interchangeably. With older people using Spanish words more. Now that I think about it, no one says dalawampung-walo for 28, it just sounds silly. People would just say twenty-eight or bente-ocho (excuse my spelling lol).
They're Hispanic. There are the Latin American people, and there are the Latin Asian people. Filipinos are the Latin Asian ones.
Latin Asian people? Filipinos are Southeast Asians. Yes their culture is Spanish influenced but appearance-wise look similar to people of other Southeast Asian nations.
Filipinos are also part of "Haplogroup O" which exists in people throughout all of East and Southeast Asia.
@minibrings ... interesting comment.
But what the issue here is ... what is "Asian" about you?
I can "look" European, but if my culture is Spanish, and my diet is Spanish, and my spirituality is Spanish based ... then guess what? I'M SPANISH!
I think you have much to be proud of.
You said your parents are from the Philippines. Have you ever been there?
Perhaps you're more, "American" than anything else?

So what?
Most people in Mexico have an indigenous appearance, but they have a culture that is Spanish influenced, so they are Latin Americans. Culture is everything, appearance and "race" are meaningless.
Culture is everything, appearance and "race" are meaningless.
I think they are all important. Just acknowledge your background and who you really are; culture, appearance, and race are all part of your self-identity.
Culture is far more important in my opinion. I don't care about the "race" or the appearance of anyone.
