We had company this weekend, so yesterday we loaded up and drove up to Mount Magazine State Park. What a view! Absolutely beautiful. We had lunch in the restaurant in the lodge, outstanding food. The leaves are starting to turn, but there is a lot of brown this year (too dry for best colors).

You are absolutely correct about Mt. Magazine. A few years ago my family and I spent a weekend up there and I posted several photos and comments on "Exploring Arkansas". Our next trip will be to Wilhelmina State Park Lodge. I keep posting abut those plans and maybe, eventually, we will do it.

Yep, Mt. Magazine is awesome, and so is the lodge. Expensive, though. When we were making trips to Arkansas 20 years ago with the kids, an Arkansas State Park cabin or lodge was less expensive than other options. Now it's the same or more.
I've seen pictures of the new lodge at Petit Jean and it looks awesome also.
