Alright. Arizona has officially made the switch to seven digit plates. Fine.

I can deal with that.

But has anyone heard anything about the next total redesign, and the time frame we can expect?

I hope it's relatively soon. I realize that we have one of the better plate designs out there, but, and I hope someone agrees with me, it's time for a change.

It probably won't happen soon. The old maroon plates were around for, what, 16 years?

I preferred those old maroon plates, much more classy than the current standard. The Golden Rule personalized option is truly gorgeous.

I am pretty particular to the Arizona 5 digit Veteran plates myself. Those are still stamped, and the design is simple and good looking. I can't wait to get my Vet plates when I renew my registration in March.

I don't like the non-stamped plates, I also miss the maroon and white plates, I still have a few in my garage from old vehicles.

I don't they they'll redesign the plate until we need 8 digits.

The colors on the GR plate are very pretty, but it's hard to see the numbers. I like more contrast (as does law enforcement! )

The worst were those copper ones with the green letters. You still see some of those around, and the coppery stuff has worn off.

I detest the nonstamped plates. They look like they are just on heavy cardboard. I was glad to get a "real" plate when I got my ASU one.

I think the next plate should be SIMPLE, and not over done, but - ya know, elegant?

Like.. a sedona red base, with copper-colored lettering (law enforcement probably wouldn't like that) and something like Montezuma's Castle faintly in the background.

Seriously - why be stressed about it? There are - like someone mentioned already - a whole bunch of different designs NOW - take your pick!

Why do we need a re-design on the basic one? If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
