the cactus garden under the window replaced a large rose bush that was a real snarl. The rocks along the rod-iron replaced 5 small rose bushes. The mesquite was there when I moved in. I have finished the fake wash that catch my roof run off and will post tomorrow. Chuck

Love it. Right now I have a couple of 5 acre parcels that look a lot like your "before" shot. I hope one day one of them will look more like your other pic. Did you do some of the work yourself? How much did that backyard cost you if you don't mind my asking.

Okay, here's a question for anyone. I can't provide a picture, but maybe someone will know what I'm talking about.

Sometimes when I go to Vegas (Laughlin through Cal-Nev-Ari to Searchlight, etc.) I see these plants growing along the shoulder. They look like some sort of lily.

What are those?

I don't remember seeing them growing in any yard.

I was wondering the same thing......they look and act like 'morning glories on steroids'. Very undesert like foliage (thick and dark green). Those are all over the shoulders in Golden Valley. There are others that look a lot likem with smaller, purple flowers along the shoulders and washes.

that is Datura, a mild halucinogenic and a VERY pretty plant......since it is a narcotic, I THINK that it is considered a controlled substance [even uncontrolled] and you can't have it in your yard......If I find differantly, I'm diggin some up lol....it really pretty
