Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Get any odd looks or comments about taking the pictures?

Naw, I looked like any other tourist carrying their camera. Might not be so inconsipicuous in the winter.

It is not as bad as I thought either. Cereal and milk are about the same at the regular prices. Most of the red tagged items (sale) are our regular prices.

Though don't most tourists tend to take pictures of moose, bears, eagles, mountains, glaciers. etc? Hopefully they don't spend all that money to fly to Alaska just to get a closeup shot of a gallon of milk!

Where are ya at in MI Blackzzz?

The reason I ask, I'm from northern MI, and a lot of the prices of foods are the same it not less here in AK then MI, with the exception of milk, pop/soda, and just a few other things. Meats though, WOW, they are much less here and just as good. A nice prime rib roast for around $80 back in MI I can get here for about $30-40.

I'm in Oakland County...Royal Oak area. I was real surprised to see that most of the prices that were pictured were real comperable to the prices here. Especially after hearing all the horror stories!

If you don't mind the limited selection per group, then Costco will save you a lot of money. We get about 70% of our groceries there. The only thing I noticed is that New Segaya was cheaper with their King Salmons when they were on sale.
