Balloon Fiesta 2019 (Allison Giron | KRQE Digital Producer)
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The green flat was raised Sunday for the second day of Balloon Fiesta. Due to clear skies Dawn Patrol took off as planned.
Balloon Fiesta officials say winds are calm and conditions are ideal for an Albuquerque Box. They also say a cold front is moving in but weather is great for balloon flying.
Second morning of Balloon Fiesta was picture perfect

Poncho...thanks for posting. We are hoping to go to the festival next year and will be camping on site (if I manage to snag a site that is). Can you tell me if it's best to be there on a weekend or is there plenty to see and do during the week? How many days would you recommend we stay? I think staying at least two days might make it more likely to have cooperative weather.
Appreciate any insights you might have. Camping reservations open on October 22 for next year.

Thanks!
The best days are the days with the best weather, and that is impossible to predict.
Every day has different events. Some events also occur at night. But they launch every day with weather permitting.
There is plenty to see on site as well as the area. We went to watch bands at at Albuquerque Old Town today.
