The wife and I drove to Anchorage once that took about 12 hours. Stopped to eat in Soldotna, stopped to look at bears along the Russian River, stopped to look at salmon and terns at Tern Lake, stopped to look at some Minkes playing, stopped to look at some belugas, stopped to look at a waterfall and some wild flowers, stopped at Rabbit Creek. By that time, we had to eat again. (We always eat at the Golden Corral when we're in Anchorage. Mmm, steak!.)

The half dozen of us are looked upon as the black sheep of the community.

However, one funny thing about being in a small town, we were protesting some protesters once (the impeach Bush/no war for oil crowd), and we knew them all, so we stood out there talking to them while walking with our signs protesting their signs. A high school student called us up and there's a group of them that wants to join us next time.

Who said that I support Bush?

As a conservative, I cannot support someone that liberal, even if he is is lightyears ahead of those he ran against.

But, "Impeach Bush" is stupid since he hasn't broken any laws, and there are several reasons why we are in this war, some good, others not, but oil itself is not one of them. (Although "the free flow of oil" could be argued as a reason.)

Should we be in this war! Definitely. But, it should have been years sooner, as soon as Iraq started violating the cease fire agreement back in the 90s.

Sometimes, war is the answer, and whether we should be there now or not, we are there. Trying to destroy the morale of our troops will help no one, and trying to impeach a president who has broken no laws is stupid. (Especially in light of the fact that our former president admitted to committing a felony, and was acquitted.)

A lesson could be taken from Henry Ford: He was a peacenik who was very much against us entering WWII. He lobbied against it and tried to use his influence to prevent us from joining.

But, as soon as we did, he hunkered down and got to work supporting our nation, supporting our troops, and helping us win.

Elgusano, have you ever watched "GLOBAL GOVERNANCE The Quiet War Against American Independence...An Eagle Forum TV Special Report? I just watched it again tonight! Very interesting in light of several things that are happening today.

One of the ideas brought up in this 1997 film is that the energy supplies will be used to bring America to our knees! Another is that the world population will be cut by, I believe it said, 2/3 by world hunger brought on by eliminating the fertilizer supply. Isn't it interesting that when more gas was needed to keep AGRIUM open to produce that marketable product, the gas wasn't made available and those hundreds of good paying jobs here in AK were just let to go by the way side!

A true conservative like yourself should get this film, and share it with your friends and neighbors, all 6 of you who could help spread the word....demand our oil and gas for instate use!
