Here is a beautiful picture of Homer Alaska that I stumbled upon. I know the exact spot that the picture was taken. Homer is located pretty much at the end of the Kenai Peninsula, and is about 225 miles SE. In the mountains, you can see the glaciers. A little bit blurry though.

Thanks for that awesome view of Homer. That is exactly the spot we are looking at real estate to retire. Everytime we see a view like that in Homer we cannot wait to get up there.

Homer is breathtaking when it comes to scenery. I could sit and watch the water and mountains all day. And it's a great place to dig steamer clams out on the spit you can see in the picture...as well as across the bay. Oysters are farmed across the bay as well. Supposed to be the best on the planet.

Homer is one of three places folks have highly recommended to me as being a good fit for what I like. The other two are Cordova and Seward. I am really looking forward to my visit and hope to visit all three as well as other potential relocation places.

I've never been to Cordova (don't know why) but Seward and Homer both are pretty neat. You've got the boat harbors that give that quaint fishing village look. Mountains and ocean for scenery and fishing. Plus much milder temps in winter. Across the bay from Seward are the biggest blue berries I have ever seen. You can pick a 5 gallon bucket full in an hour. Cordova is a little farther south and east, so I'm sure it's even better temp wise.
