I am an energetic vegetarian, among other things. I would appreciate information on several topics, with more to come...
1. ...exercise during the extreme cold - For someone like me who loves to walk ... what are the options when it is extremely cold? For exercise in general - I'd have to have an exercise machine of some sort if I can't walk outside.
2. ...Water quality. Desalinated. Any other comments about water there?
3. ...Organic food? Is this just a dream option there, are there any stores that carry any type of organic food?
What is the food shopping situation like there? Would I find grains, like oats, or organic oats, for example, locally, in a store? Dried fruit? Or do people order basically everything and have it sent?
4. ...Is there no difference at all in the depth of winter between midnight and high noon - i mean in amount of light.
By the way, I am considering teaching there, and hope to correspond with someone for a while who is currently teaching there. Just beginning to do research and not fully serious yet but there are things that appeal to me.
Is the local and transplant population able to mix. Here in Hawaii, it depends. It would be quite interesting to see the differences and similarities between what I have observed here, and there.
Thanks.
