Does that mean that if your 20 and with your legal guardian you can drink? If so that's great. I'm 37, My mother taught me to drink responsibly when I was a teen. They changed the drinking age in Colorado from 18 to 21 when I was 17. Just more govenment bologna.

No. If your legal guardian buys you a drink, likely both of you are going to get your butts hauled off. The drinking age is 21.
The reason it says that a minor may be allowed in a drinking establishment is because Alaska's laws are a little odd- minors aren't allowed alone into any restaurant that serves alcohol, like pizza places and such. It is the dumbest law ever conceived of.

That is stupid. When I left the nest at 18, I pretty much ate at restarants. If that law were here in Colorado, There would be a line of college kids in front of every pizza and burger joint. In Boulder the lines would also be smoking fatties..lol.
The running joke in Boulder is you can smoke on the steet, It just can't be tobacco. I'm with barnicle9, However I believe we already outlawed big government. We simply stopped paying attention a couple generations and now it's gotten out of hand, Again. Just like our countries founders warned.

Papers please..

Barnacle9 & Aquariusmom,
Just ran across your pics of Cordova, it is making me home sick. I lived in the apartments behind Remy's Florist, the big 3 story red building down the alley. I hope to visit this summer after we get moved back to AK in Feb/Mar. I have a lot of friends there I want to see. Barnacle9 is Wes still working in the liquor store? If so tell him "Hello from NC". He was one of my TA's at the high school during the day and the store at night. Keep posting the pics, I love them.

Yes, Wes still works here several evenings a week. I will tell him hi from NC. 3299 is the # down there if you want to try after 2200 (10pm) your time - I forget what evenings.

Glad you enjoyed the pics, and stop by when you get back to town

I would suspect that fully half of the military population E-4 and under would not be able to buy a pizza in some establishments, or get any type of meal in others. For some reason, this does not sound well thought out to me. I was released from USMC in Dec 68, I turned 21 in Sept 68, most of my active service time, I could not legally drink a beer. I could set traps to tear people to shreds, shoot them from 1000 yards, call in air strikes with the vast destruction of equipment and human life, but I could not drink a beer. Is it just me, or am I not mentally endowed enough to understand the logic here? Sorry folks, one of my pet peeves here.
