Default Fishing out of Whittier

Looks like you had a nice trip to Seward HighlandLady! Some great shooting!

I've been on the water a couple days myself.
Left out of Whittier and out to Knight Island. As you can see it was cloudy but very calm.

Snacked on smoked salmon creamcheese crackers (and beer)
http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/7650/m080022yn8.jpg (broken link)

Then we got down to some serious fishing (and beer drinking). Didn't take long and we had our first QuillBack Rockfish
http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/9554/m080025vv5.jpg (broken link)

And LingCod
http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/1653/m080030wq1.jpg (broken link)

And YellowEye (also called red snapper but it's not a snapper!)

And Halibut

All this hard work meant we should have a beer. So I broke out the good stuff. Some fine Svensk (swedish) Beer which I smuggled to Alaska personally

So we caught bigger fish!

And saw a whale!
http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/7330/m080046sp4.jpg (broken link)

And caught more fish!

Jigging at 20 to 30 feet got the Silver Salmon. Talk about fresh...

Jigging at 200 feet got us Halibut

We fed the birds

And ourselves

Fresh Yellow Eye fillets hot off the grill. Spiced nicely and complimented by some steak and...beer

Sunday morning I nailed 3 fish before anyone else had their first cup of coffee (with Baileys), and was blessed with this fine looking Tiger Rockfish. I let him go as it was caught pretty shallow and there didn't seem to be any airbladder damage. They are good eating but I wouldn't keep one this small

Coming back into Whittier

Just out of the tunnel and bam...Portage Lake

Fishin's Good!
