Waiting Time between Reputation Points

I am wondering what the time lapse is for giving reputation points. Sometimes I can do it in a 24hr period, or so it seems, and other times it seems to be much, much longer.

I am eager to give HDL some points for wit, and I can't seem to get the system to acknowledge my request.

I don't have an official answer for you on this, OTR, but it appears that it isn't based on time but number of rep points given. In other words, if I give you a rep point, and it's two weks before I'm back and try and give you a rep point, the system won't allow it. However, if I give you a rep point this morning, and then divvy out rep points all day to others (how many is the question) then I can give you another rep point regardless of amount of time.

You also are required to pass around the love otherwise you could just load up one person. Default on this type of board software is at least 5 other people before giving ot the same person again. Now the admin can change that to whatever they choose.

Back OT ! I agree with Alpha8207 and CharlotteAgent (though I do not know the exact number of points between giving positive rep a second time) . There was one time I gave a certain poster positive rep '4' times in one day all because I gave out to others in between . Rarely do I get the 'spread the love around' message and I always know how to override it with additional LOVE spreading .

Thank you so much for thinking of me today and for the positive rep (even if it seems silly to some, it is not to me)! I spend alot of time composing some of my posts and I appreciate hearing if they bring 'joy, laughter, or a smile' to those that read them ! If I could turn back the hands of time, I would be a stand up Comic (that's COMIC, not COSMIC )!

You can give out at most 50 reputations in the 24-hour period. You must give reputations to 8 people before you can hit the same person again. I don't think there are any other limits.

Now I understand how I get some points, and how to give more "stars" as K always calls them.

The limits have now been tightened from 50 and 8 to 15 and 20.

Is that the number of people you can give them to ? or the total number of points you can give ?
