The purpose of today's visit was to preform a routine assessment. Explained the importance of having clear designations for hand washing and food preparation sinks. Preparing food in sinks where hand washing occurs could result in possible contamination of food from pathogens found on hands. EHS provided hand washing signs for all hand washing sinks.
  • Critical: Equipment / Food-Contact / Visibly Clean (corrected on site)
    Observation: The following equipment/utensils were observed soiled to sight and touch: PLASTIC CONTAINERS, CERAMIC BOWLS, PLASTIC PLATES IN PRE-K 2.
    Correction: Equipment food-contact surfaces and utensils shall be clean to the sight and touch. A surface that is soiled cannot be effectively sanitized. ITEMS RE-CLEANED IN SINK.
  • Refuse Container with Cover/ Women's & Unisex Toilet Room
    Observation: There is no covered refuse container for the disposal of feminine napkins in the UNISEX EMPLOYEE BATHROOM.
    Correction: A toilet room used by females shall be provided with a covered receptacle for sanitary napkins.
  • Handwashing Signage at Handwashing Facilities Required (corrected on site)
    Observation: Observed that sign or poster that notifies food employees to wash their hands is not provided at all handwashing sinks used by food employees. SIGNS NOT PROVIDED AT HAND SINKS IN EARLY PRE-SCHOOL, PRE-K 1, AND PRE-K 2 HANDWASHING SINKS.
    Correction: Provide a sign or poster at all handwashing sinks used by food employees that reminds food employees to wash their hands. EHS PROVIDED HANDWASHING SIGNS.

    Observation: There is no test kit located in the TODDLER SUITE for monitoring the concentration of the chemical sanitizing solutions.
    Correction: Obtain a BLEACH test kit.
  • Handwashing Sink / Used for Hand Wash Only (corrected on site)
    Observation: Observed the handsink IN THE INFANT SUITE being used TO CLEAN UTENSILS
    Correction: Handsinks are to be used only for washing hands to encourage proper hand washing and to prevent contamination of cleaned hands.--EHS INSTRUCTED MANAGER AND STAFF ABOUT PROPER USE OF HANDSINK.
  • Critical: Sanitizers, 21 CFR Criteria for Food Contact (corrected on site) (repeated violation)
    Observation: The concentration of the BLEACH solution was measured ABOVE 200 ppm IN THE TRANSITIONAL TODDLER CLASSROOM. This concentration exceeds the approved limits for use with food-contact surfaces of equipment and utensils in a foodservice establishment.
    Correction: Maintain the concentration of BLEACH solution at 200ppm. Verify concentration using the appropriate test kit.--MANAGER DISCARDED BLEACH SOLUTION.
