The final world cup game will be played at MetLife Stadium in July 2026. For a country that doesn't have an interest in soccer, are people in NJ interested?
FIFA globally recognized for their historical corruption and bribery with their location process, begs to question how did they end up in New Jersey? Who paid off who to get them to NJ? Were taxpayer gold bars handed over? We know Murphy is a huge soccer fan.
The USA has a large interest in soccer. Ratings for the EPL and World Cup are always phenomenal. MLS attendance has steadily grown over the years. Lots of homegrown and imported fans of the sport in this country. The USA always sends the most visitors to World Cups, more than any other nation.

1980 wants its outdated sports take back.
Its grown, but lets be real the demographic for the soccer league here are 12 years old boys and their parents and foreigners.
Sounds like someone who has not been to an MLS game in the last ten years. Those 12 year olds you are referring to are now in their 20's and 30's with disposable income. Your take has advanced from 1980 to about 2000 now.
Also "foreigners" are part of the USA soccer market so the distinction isn't relevant.

im 26. I don't know a single person who watches MLS soccer lmao.
I knew 2 or 3 people down in FL who did because of Orlando City. But that was 2016-2017.. and I don't see anymore posts about it.
World Cup? More for sure. But significantly less than the big four. There are some pick me's here and there though...

Lets just stop pretending there are fans. I grew up playing soccer, and played D3 for 1 year in college in NJ and we had zero attendance outside of parents.
I've been to a couple Red Bull games for corporate events and there is hardly anybody there. I could have been in the stands and thrown a hot dog in any direction and not even come close to hitting someone.
The 2023 MLS Final had 815k views on Fox, which doesn't even make sense to put on TV. For reference, the Wheel of Fortune pulls in 8.5 million on a random Wednesday night.

That's ridiculous , yeah report me! Do we have to remind you of the USWNT and all their success? There is great interest in World Class soccer. Met Life will change there turf to natural grass for the event and other games . 5 miles as the crow flies from mid town Manhattan, it's a perfect location and to remind others it has already hosted a NFL Super Bowl.
Thats not the point, you can televise the game from Antarctica and it will get the viewers. The point is Soccer is not popular in America and wont be, Golf has a higher viewership count.
Put the game in the place where the fans are.
