It's actually an outline of Toronto's city hall in white (2 curved buildings), which form the letter "T" which of course stand for Toronto. And then there maple leaf in between of course (in case you didn't know what the meaning of the flag was).
Does your city have an official flag?
What does it look like?
Any meanings behind it?
What city flags do you like/dislike?
I've always loved the Toronto city flag. Juneau's is cool, but it looks like it belongs on a corrugated plastic sign in my yard, not flying on a flag pole.
Each section represents the countries that once controlled the city; France on the bottom left, Britain in the top right, and 13 stars and stripes on the top left and bottom right representing the 13 colonies or basically the United States.
The center of it is the seal of Detroit which in it of itself has its own symbolism; Speramus Meliora means "We hope for better things" and Resurget Cineribus means "It will rise from the ashes"; the lady on the left is mourning over the burned city (presumably the fire of 1805 that burned the whole city) and the lady on the right is showing praise for the new city built in its place.
Seems ever relevant to the city's current circumstances. Keep in mind this flag was made in 1907 far before the city ever grew to the status it is presently known for.
The original version had much more detail to it and looks more like an art piece rather than something you'd stitch into threads and hang on a pole.
The Flag of Indianapolis - The white star represents the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, and its centralization the fact that Indianapolis is the state capital of Indiana. The white circle and the red field within it depict Monument Circle. The color red also signifies "the driving energy and urge for progress that has made the City of Indianapolis race ahead." The four white stripes represent North and South Meridian Streets vertically, and East and West Market Streets horizontally (the main streets of downtown Indianapolis). The four quadrants of dark blue symbolize the residential areas of the city.[1] The colors of the flag are the same as the flag of the United States.

Reason: fORGOT PICTURE
Even though I'm a life long resident, I never knew Boston had a city flag until know. Can't say I've ever seen it fly anywhere.
