My town doesn't have an official flag, we do have a nice logo here though.

Thought this might be a cool thread to bump..

Ocean City Maryland has one of my favorite city flags. They formed their OC initials in to a wave. Basic and good-looking.

It's flown at many public buildings, and the seal adorns a lot of ornamental cast iron. The Boston Athletic Association, sponsor of the Marathon, chose the same colors of cerulean and gold.

And across the Charles from Boston is the City of Cambridge, and this is its flag:

Can’t help but think of Geography King here:

Anyhow, the places I’ve lived:

Milpitas, CA. It’s inoffensively normal, not horrible like some, but it’s not a flag I think is particularly good, either:

Tyler, TX. It’s pretty awful. It looks like a business card or a Chamber of Commerce brochure, and is dated IMHO:

I’ve kinda bounced around a couple of places up here in NY. The City of Rochester has an official flag, but it’s not the one you’ll see everywhere from city buildings to tote bags. Rochesterians have a sense of pride for the city, and the flag is quite attractive besides reflecting a lot of the city’s history:

Rochester’s suburb Greece is where I have spent most of my time here along with Irondequoit. Both are rather disappointing boilerplate flags with a seal on a white background. Irondequoit added a border but it doesn’t do much for the flag.

U.S. state flags are mostly drab and boring
(with a few notable exceptions: MD, AZ, NM, TX,
and maybe a couple of others).

But judging by this thread, there seems to be all sorts of variety in city flags!

Tell me that your flag was designed by committee without telling me that is was designed by committee.

I wasn't aware that any cities had official flags. Logos, yes, but flags? I've lived around the country and can't say I've ever seen one. Maybe I just never noticed.

You may not have ever noticed, because every city I've ever lived in (and it's a lot of cities) has had a city flag.
What I'm learning from this thread is that a lot of them are hideous!

Here are a couple more:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_o...North_Carolina
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/F...i,_Florida.svg
Both are sort of ordinary flags that are neither exciting nor hideous. Miami's looks like India's flag at first glance.
