Description: The Coos Bay Public School District enrolls more than 3,500 students who live in Coos Bay and surrounding unincorporated areas. The district has six elementary schools that teach grades K through 5. Middle school students (grades 6 through 8) attend one of two middle schools in the district: Millacoma and Sunset. More than 1,250 high school students in grades 9 through 12 attend Marshfield High School, which is the largest high school on the Oregon Coast. An integrated curriculum is used in the elementary schools in the district and instruction is offered in traditional classrooms as well as classrooms that have children of different ages.
