This 172-bed facility was built in 1970 at a cost of $6.75 million. Diagnostic and therapeutic inpatient and outpatient services include critical care, home health, oncology, obstetrical, pediatric, psychiatric, surgical, and other specialties. Patients at Bay Area Hospital can also take advantage of imaging services that include MRI, CT scan, and mammography. The hospital is well known for its accredited cancer program, where cancer patients receive treatment in a modern radiation therapy center that was opened in 1990. The hospital also has a housing facility for the families of cancer patients so they can be close by to offer much-needed support. This facility also teaches patient and community health care classes.
