There’s a divide between the bar and the dining area, so during the day it’s also a regular destination for lunch and dinner guests. Description: Open Tuesday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., this “industrial video bar, lounge, and club” is an innovative nightclub for gays and lesbians with DJs, dancing, and karaoke. The Galaxy Girls perform on Saturdays, and the first Friday of every month is the Camptown Cabaret. Gay-owned and -operated, Starbase Q recently expanded to over 40,000 square feet of space on multiple levels. A popular happy hour takes place Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Closed on Monday.

Description: Teddy Bear’s calls itself a bar and grille, but you won’t find any food there other than snacks from the vending machine. A tiny bar—an old-fashioned hole in the wall, some would call it—on an Old Louisville side street, Teddy Bear’s generally attracts a crowd of older gay men; however, all ages and orientations tend to pop in. The staff is friendly and the clientele unpretentious. Popular draws are Beer Bust Sunday and all-night happy hour on Wednesday. Open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 a.m., Teddy Bear’s has karaoke until 3 a.m. on Thursday. No cover charge.

Description: This casual flannel-and-jeans bar caters mainly to gay men over 30, though you’ll find younger patrons as well. On one side there are tables and a square bar with stools and a pool-table area. The other side is darker and has a second bar with a small dance floor and stage setup where male strippers perform on Friday and Saturday nights. Conveniently located near the bridges downtown, Tryangle’s has its own parking lot in addition to plentiful on-street parking. It is a block’s walk to the Connection, so many guys out for a night on the town like to start with a drink at Tryangles and then head over to the Connection. Or else they take a break from the Connection and head over to Tryangles in the middle of the evening. No cover charge.
