Description: Dixieland Fun Park features go-kart tracks, bumper boats, miniature golf, batting cages, and an outdoor sky coaster. The Pavilion has a video arcade, laser tag, and a playmaze for little ones. The park opens weekends only from autumn through the end of May. It is open in summer from noon to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to midnight Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday, and 1 to 11 p.m. Sunday. An all-day pass is $19 (plus tax); juniors (those 31-45 inches tall) and seniors play for $17 (plus tax). Those under 31 inches tall play free.

Description: These enormous ice rinks offer skating sessions of various lengths every day of the week. A special treat is the chance to see professional hockey players in practice at the Duluth facility, as this is the home of the Atlanta Thrashers and is now also used for practice by the Gwinnett Gladiators. The cost ranges from $7 to $8 per person, depending on how long you skate. Skate rentals are $3.

Description: You can either speed up or slow down at Malibu Grand Prix, a sports and video arcade for the whole family. Bumper boats, batting cages, a video arcade, go-karts, and Grand Prix race cars entertain the action-oriented. More laid-back family members can meander through a miniature golf course or settle back to watch races on a big-screen TV. Birthday parties and overnight lock-ins are popular here. Malibu is open Monday through Thursday noon to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday noon to midnight, and Sunday 1 to 10 p.m. Admission is $10 for every Tuesday and Thursday, otherwise $19 covers all attractions for as long as you want to ride and play.

Description: This high-tech spot seems like a video game come to life. Q-Zar’s darkened mazes pit teams against each other in a combative game of hide-and-seek laser tag. Teams zap opponents with safe laser beams until one side emerges victorious. Admission costs $8 per person per game. Groups of up to 25 can play two games for a total of $250. Hours vary, so call before you go.

Description: Stone Mountain offers a diverse array of entertainment for the whole family.
