Annual Events & Festivals - Festivals & Events

For a small city, Tucson is extremely busy year-round with special events and festivals that showcase our multicultural heritage. No matter what month you plan to visit, you’ll always find an interesting or unusual event to check out. From film festivals to rodeos, carnivals to bike races, golf tournaments to music under the stars, Tucson has a diverse—and fun—mix of entertaining events.

Thanks to our consistently beautiful weather—some 350 days of sunshine a year—few events will be canceled due to rain or cold (although once in a while a summer monsoon will cause an event to be postponed or canceled). In fact, the majority of events take place outdoors except during summer, when the 100-degree-plus temperatures send everyone scurrying indoors.

February and March are the busiest months, something that should be noted when making hotel reservations. February alone hosts two of the biggest events—the La Fiesta de los Vaqueros Rodeo and parade and the world-famous Tucson Gem and Mineral Show. Add a major golf tournament, an international film festival, and the Renaissance fair—just to name a few—and your slate should be quite full.
