I think it's awesome that Sequim reportedly enjoys 'better' weather... I just think it's probably a mistake to encourage people to live anywhere n Western WA if rainy cloudy days would be a dealbreaker.

It's been clear in the puget sound too the last 2 days. 2 more days of the same. At the same time the weather in Eastern Washington has been foggy and cold.

Yeah. Eastern WA's weather is worse than Western WA's for roughly 2 days every year...

Eastern WA doesn't get as much rain but is in fact just as cloudy in winter as Western WA.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walla_...ington#Climate

From November to March Walla Walla is actually gloomier than Seattle. Probably has something to do with the geography in the Columbia Basin.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spokan...ington#Climate

Spokane is a bit sunnier, but not by much.

Everywhere in WA (except the immediate coast) is sunny in summer but Eastern WA leads the pack in that regard, making sun hours higher than Seattle. Everywhere in WA has cloudy winters and short winter days - that's what causes SAD, not rain.

Remember that windward Hawaii gets 100+ inches of rain a year, is cloudier than western WA on an annual basis, but you don't see SAD sufferers there.

November to March and July to September. That's 8 months of the year.

To answer the OP's original question, the mildest weather, (by definition) would be Aberdeen/Hoquiam as the average temp there is the warmest year-round. This comes with some caveats however. While the temp, (influenced by the ocean) never varies much, it also produces much cloudiness, and the temps rarely go above 70. The good news is they rarely have snow or below freezing temps.

Mild temps, yes, but certainly not "less rain".

On Sequim, according to Cliff Mass, it is definitely sunnier, and not just drier than Seattle, except for July and August:
