Sequim (pronounced Skwim) They have minimum of 120 days a year of sun, very mild temps. Referred to as the "Blue hole" because while the rest of us have grey skies and rain they have sun. My in-laws live there and we have been many times.

Basically western Washington is damp. It sprinkles quite often, It rains often. It pours, seldom. It snows
about every five years that stays around for about two to three weeks, then melts. It is chilly. Even
in the Summer, it's chilly. You get aclimated after about five years. Get ready for the runny noses.
Lots of trees and flowering things (pollen). It is totally awsume. The Sound is great. Seattle leaves little to desire for the young and middle aged. There is plenty room for the retired. It is a great place to live, but it can grate on you too, if you let it. The trees are very tall. Driving thru the forests can feel like you are in an eternal tunnel. The differant areas feel enclosed and restrictive, as if you are on the top of small hill. There are so many things of beauty, but all have drawbacks, as does any place on earth. Seattle is a seaport. Expect windy, cold, damp weather. But a tall glass of wine, or brandy
will take the edge off. There's alot there to love.

So sorry to have to tell you that what you are looking for does not exist. There is no where in LA where there isn't smog. Check out the air quality websites and you will see that most of California gets a "D". I have lived here for 59 years and it is a little better but still makes the eyes run and is hard to breathe when it gets bad, There are days when they tell people not to go outside if they have breathing problems and they tell the schools not to let the children out at recess. This is why I want out of here. Where do you live now?

jkk was being sarcastic, I'm sure. It's kind of like this post - "where in Washington is it least like Washington"?

There is NOWHERE in Washington that you can go to avoid (or get) ALL of the following:

rain
snow
hot summers
cold winters
mild temperatures
lots of sun
lots of cloudiness

As far as Washington goes, compromises have to be made.

Anyway, of course it was POURING down rain harder than I've EVER seen in my life, because it was in Seattle and we all know that it just POURS rain in Seattle ALL the time...

Propagating the myth... It doesn't rain like that up here, but it does drizzle for the whole rainy season and there are lots of overcast days in that "rainy" time frame. Then there are summers which are almost totally dry and sunny and perfectly beautiful... Not that the grey and rain and gloom isn't beautiful too.
Some people call them "A Poncho".

If you like constant suffocating humidity, then stay in the East. We do have it, but it is rarely suffocating. I believe you're looking in Eastern WA? I think the dryness could be your complaining factor. My SIL lives in Tri-cities (after living in Socal and Atlanta), the 2 things she complain about: Dryness and Windiness.

As a resident of the Washington-Baltimore area, I really hate high humidity.

Is the area of Ellensburg having more comfortable weather than the Yakima area?

HI/LO/RN/SN
Ellensburg, WA 82.9/18.6/9.1/22.6
Yakima, WA 87.2/20.5/8.26/24.6

HI: warmest summer month average high
LO: coldest winter month average low
RN: annual rainfall
SN: annual snowfall

Pretty similar, Ellensburg has cooler summers.
