And how did it feel? That's what they're asking... not if you've ever done that. It was an analogy, to explain that it can be scary to leave one's comfort zone.

It's common usage to drop the "person" from a description if the meaning is clear. People say a "blond" not a "blond person". They say a drunk, a doper, a bull rider, a doctor, a dog walker, all without amending and clarifying that it is a human person that they are talking about.

One of the biggest irritations about the politically correct is that they put a lot of effort onto modifying both the language and history. It makes you and your ilk look like Animal Farm, which, incidentally, tends to lower our opinion of you and your favorite projects.

Like y'all think that the homeless are so animal-like that we must add the word human to their adjectives. We all know that they are people. If we were talking about a homeless cat or dog, we would add the word cat or dog to clarify.

It wouldn't be necessary if they were being treated like people. Much easier to deal with if you conveniently forget that they are.

And who is modifying the language here? They always used to be called homeless people, it's only recently that "a homeless" became common, and chiefly among those who act like they aren't people at all. Dehumanizing the people you don't like is the first step in a very bad direction.

Nah. This was a valid attempt, but in my 47 years of life I've never heard "a homeless" used as a standalone personal noun. THE homeless, sure, but never as a single entity. Do you also refer to people in the military as "a military?" Guessing no, since that also refers to a group of people.

I'm not talking about "political correctness" (or do we call it "wokeness" now lol), I'm talking about basic English grammar and common usage.

Thank you, and exactly. They were really stretching with that one, huh?
