My wife just got a pair of cute low top rubber insulated boots with a nice print pattern.
They look nice and are easy to put on and off.
We don’t wear shoes inside the house so this is nice.
They are called Bogs and cost $46.00 at Swains in PA.

For us outdoor worker bees.. I get my muck boots at Grainger $14, great quality, I wear them daily and they last several yrs.

Keen or Merrell are available at REI and offer outdoor versions.

Casual duck / rubber low tops can be found at farm supply or Bimart.

Big5 often has a bunch of very low cost closeout shoes, sometimes waterproof offerings.

Unless mucking, I wear std shoes and treat them with waterproofing. / Oils.
My normal attire finds me in Justin lace work boots. ~$120, good for 10+ yrs of heavy daily use.

I buy most of my shoes at troutdale outlet mall.

35 is not a common high in Seattle. Even in January the average high is mid 40’s. But yes during night 30’s are common.

When it gets to 30s, it is usually clear and dry. Of course there are exceptions like this past weekend.

I live at about 17000 elevation so that makes a difference. (and nowhere near Seattle)

It was atypo .
No big deal.
I do it all the time .

I do agree that 1,700 feet is a big difference in temperatures.
Where we are at half of that means you know how to use a snow shovel.
