Today it rained on and off. Mostly on. When my husband and I left a downtown shop, the server asked us if we minded walking back into the downpour. We said, "Well, we just deal with it..." and she eagerly piped up, "If you're born here you love it!" And then a customer who was at the register groused, "Well, I lived my whole life here and I still hate it!"

I felt like thanking her for being honest.

TBH, it doesn't bother me as I just toss on a rain coat if necessary. There is however this grassy hill I have to walk up to throw my garbage out in the dumpster that sucks to walk when it's wet. I slid on it so many times lol

I do however now understand why people said always plan for rain because the weather forecast here seems utterly useless. It's constantly changing or it's often just wrong.

So yeah, AZ is the FL for west coasters.

You need to talk with Ruth4Truth, she's in NM & wants to leave & return to PNW, according to her posts.

Palm Springs & the Coachella Valley communities have been impacted by SoCal real estate prices, the drought uncertainties, & the strain that the large number of undocumented people there have put on life in general there, I.e., crime, crowding, strain on the health care system & social services, etc., etc.

Clouds in Western WA are definitely lower and darker than I've seen in the Midwest or back east

Then again, you have days like today that I love.
Temps in the mid 50's and blue skies for miles and miles, along with some fluffy white clouds here and there to break it up.

I haven't read through the entire thread so I may be repeating someone. But the Northeast U.S. gets significantly more winter sunshine than the PNW. Boston, Maine, Southern New Hampshire...get a lot more sunshine in winter than the PNW. NYC does too. This has been said many times before, but for me the issue from Oct to June in the PNW is not the rain or the temperature, but it is the gray skies and lack of sun that last for weeks at a time before a sunny day. I'm not sure what is worse, 15 degrees outside with brilliant sunshine streaming into your living room or 47 degrees and dark gloomy skies for months and months on end.
