The beach is a highway and a parking lot.

I second Kalaloch as I just spent the weekend camping there and at Altaire. Absolutely beautiful beach and a great view of Destruction Island and its lighthouse.

Here are two photos I took this past Sunday at Kalaloch

Oh come on... The first time I was on a drive on beach I freaked out... Got pictures of my little boy dashing in front of "traffic" with his little sand toys.. (For many non Southern California folks the idea of beach and cars is an odd concept.)

Pointing out it is a drive on beach is a not bad thing... Matter of fact for accessibility it might be the very best option for the OP.

For someone seeking the "north Pacific" solitude and wildness a parking lot and a highway is not very satisfying.

1. The OP is time-limited, did not wish to hike & wanted easy accessibility from his/her car. Perhaps you missed that.

2. Another person on this thread recommended Ocean Shores with no flaming.

3. Why did you mention Southern California??

Hey.. My friend ... No I did not miss that.... I am not trying to be argumentative.. Yes, Ocean shores with the drive on access is a great suggestion... Still one needs to be aware of cars on the beach. Like I said, that is weird for most people...It is a novelty, not a lot of drive on beaches..

I mention Southern California because I was never on a beach with cars north of San Luis Obispo.. I suppose I should have said technically said Central California... Because technically Grover beach and the Oceano Dunes is the central coast... (A very fun beach if you have the mindset of highway/parking lot.)

What is the problem here? Drive on beaches are a novelty,, YES? Not what most people expect when they go to the beach...
(I am not saying they can not be a blast.... But the difference is like camping at a KOA, verses backpacking..)

Again... Good suggestion... But letting the OP know their is traffic on the beach is not weird, as their are very few drive on beaches on the west coast at least.

Yes?

Yes, that was the opinion of a state Attorney General and various court rulings.

The beach highway is a bit of a state oddity; just obey the road signs.

There are no road signs on the beach.

The tides and the weather determine how and where to drive.

Those who don't understand that get stuck in the sand.

If you call the Ocean Shores police for help getting out, they will give you the phone number to the towing company.

The charge is around a hundred bucks.
