"but not Redskins."

Why NOT?

What do you know about how the name came to be?

An Indian came up with the name. Bet you didn't know that!

His tribe came in full Indian regalia wear to CELEBRATE the naming of the team.

2 polls of the Indian Nation have been taken and around 80% have said they have NO PROBLEM with the name and in fact are HAPPY with the name.

So, who are you to tell the Indian Nation what they CAN'T celebrate?

By your way of "thinking", we should get rid of the bears, eagles, falcons, lions, etc. because they are all KILLERS!

So who do you root for, the Jets or the Giants?

What a sissy names for a team!

And just as MANY of us were NOT happy about it and wanted John to take over the team.

Many of us knew Snider was scum.

Being from Calvert Co. you probably are not that familiar with him.

"Redskins isn't coming back. New owner doesn't want that controversy."

And he personally told you that?

Why not let the fans VOTE on it?

I know, a novel idea.

We really DON'T care what snowflakes think.

Most haven't a clue how the name originated.

The only shot you guys had at that was the WFT, literally choosing no name, so everyone would remember there used to be a name we can't say anymore, but Danny Boy got rid of that too for the Kommodors, and I doubt WFT can come back now.

You also have the nostalgia problem. When the team gets good again, they won't be allowed to show tons of footage of those 70s/80s teams with the Indian logo on their helmets and apparel, the fans wearing headdresses full of feathers. No one in the media says the word "Redskins" so how they can even heap praise on the past without the pictures or the name?

Again, go expansion route and rebrand completely. The stink of the old name and stink of Snyder hover over that team like a bloated and rotting corpse. Starting over is easier than going back 30 years to a past few people remember anymore and reminding young fans you were the team with stubbornly stuck to an offensive name even when everyone else in the sports world knew it was time to give it up.
You probably aren't even a fan and rooted for the Colts and now the Ravens.

So, why should we care how you think?

At least we can hold onto our team and not let it sneak out in the middle of the night!

They just smell of Daniel Snyder and even though I am excited for the future, at least finally they have a chance, I still can't get fully back just yet.
Sorry, I could care LESS what a bunch of snowflakes think!

Take it up with the former owner. He made the call to change the name of the franchise.
