Wow, when did we get a Ventura County forum? I was originally against it, but now that it's here, I like it! Cool pics, everyone.

With your picture it shows a name of Green listed on one of the markers or tomb stones. I checked the listing of those buried in the Oxnard Masonic Cemetary and a Green was burried there. No information was listed for that person. This is a small cemetary with 37 markers visible. Those that are there died between 1898 and 1959. Both cemetery's are located at Erring Road and Pleasant Valley. I remember when I was living in Port Hueneme, I would drive past them both on my way to the Coast Highway or when I wanted to drive to Camarillo.

Thank you In your opinion, how safe is the area where this is located? I would like to have a wander through and maybe take some photographs.

LOL! We've had it for a few weeks now and it is coming along nicely. So far no drama like we are seeing at other county forums.

Ok, I haven't been too active on C-D lately, but I've subscribed to this (the VC) forum -- a place to discuss Ventura County.

I haven't been down there in sometime. As far as I know it is safe and chances are you won't have any trouble down there. Let me drive by and take a look though.

I pass that all the time on my bike. It seems perfectly safe to me. It really is on the edge of the farmlands.

It's College Park area. Safe. If you go during the day, check out the new park at Rose and Channel Islands Blvd., native landscaping, skate park and fancy dog park! Maybe shop at the new Fresh & Easy at the same corner. Amazing changes coming to Oxnard College, too.

Thanks for the feedback about the cemetery Are there many of these smaller cemeteries in the Oxnard area?

Not that I know of. There is, of course, the Santa Clara Cemetery, near H and Vineyard. It has some pretty old graves at the east entrance, old ornate grave markers with dates into the 1800s.
