Show’s garbage. They never should have gotten rid of Christopher Meloni. And if they were going to get rid of Christopher Meloni, they never should have gotten rid of Dann Florek and Richard Belzer. Liv is just some SJW kook now. SVU is a horrible SJW show that is overly politically charged. When they went to a ripped from the headlines model it all went downhill from there. They need to go back to the way it was in the first few seasons where they investigated violent rapes, pedophilia, rape homicide, and sex trafficking and stop using their platform to make digs against President Trump, Millie Weaver, and other people in the news.
I agree. I stopped watching that show. They turned Olivia Benson into supercop, mom, etc.

They didn't "get rid" of him.
They could not agree on a new contract. He wanted more money than they were willing to pay so he chose to leave.

Very True about the politics in scripted shows. I'm sick of it. And I'm sick of seeing that pic of Ruth Bader Ginsburg in Benson's office, too.
As another poster said, they didn't get rid of Meloni--he left of his own volition when his contract ended, and negotiations on a new one fell through.
Though I liked Stabler, Meloni wasn't as indispensable as he thought he was--and that's what all of these contract hold-ups for more money are all about.

Because he wanted to be paid equal to his female costar? If Mariska was going to get a raise, he deserved to get one too. It’s a 50-50 sort of thing when you have two lead stars.
And has gotten decent shows like Revolution canceled because NBC can't part with something they've become emotionally attached to. Moreover, SVU is such a rich vehicle for political propaganda, they'd probably be willing to take a loss or operate on razor thin profits so they can continue to gaslight the President and other prominent public individuals.
In fact, The Blacklist was about this close to being canned in its sixth season. NBC needs to do the right thing. Either bring back the original cast members for one final season or do what Kevin O'Leary would suggest and take it out back and shoot it.

........or maybe he wanted more than Mariska, ever think of that?
And no, leaving because you don't get the raise you want is not the "same difference" as being gotten rid of.
Actors tend to earn pay raises with time. Shows that have been on the air longer have much higher budgets because this is so typical. By denying Meloni a chance at getting a raise, they were in effect saying that they did not value him any longer as a cast member on the show. Their choice not to observe the industry standard practice of extending pay raises to veteran cast members is the equivalent of saying you can stay or go, we don’t care.

Again you are wrong.
It is all about ratings and money. Like it or not, SVU has high enough ratings to keep it viable.
Here's a suggestion, if you don't like a show, don't watch it.
I love Miriska and SVU so I will be watching.
Revolution? Never watched it. If it was viable NBC would have kept it and SVU. They didn't have to cancel SVU in order to keep Revolution, that's all in your head.
