Great points.

Also, the branding and perception of In-N-Out is much "cooler" than Whataburger, and is sort of considered a cool spot to grab a burger and fries for cheap.

When I was in college at the University of Arizona, Whataburger was everywhere in Tucson. I went there like twice the entire time I lived there, because the food was not that different/memorable than any other chain.

I liked Jack in the Box, Carl's Jr, and Wendy's better. (In-N-Out was not yet in Tucson in the late 1990s)

Their food might've changed for the better over the years, hopefully.

In n out in nashville before portland and seattle. Yeah Right this move is about 'all the californians in Tennessee'. Im sure taxes played a much bigger part in this move. Wonder how much of a tax break they got picking Tennessee over some other eastern states.

They were gonna choose Florida initially which makes somewhat more sense, the popular In N Out iconography being palm trees and all

In some polls Culvers may beat Whataburger, In-n Out, Five Guys. Depends who can provide the best service, have fresh ingredients, something different.

I know there’s a Culver’s in Hendersonville. Where are other locations in the metro area? Is there one in Murfreesboro?

I understand the company likes centrally located warehouse locations to source their restaurants. Florida is just not central to anywhere. I could see eventually they’ll put a supply location there after enough restaurants open in FL.

Based on that criteria, you would want to head over to Cook Out.

In-n-Out - 5 star reviews.

Cook Out - 3 star reviews.

It is not that In-n-Out is the best burger, just the best burger in its price range.
