I'm sure they're a fine vehicle, however the market is full of great vehicles led by the RAV-4 in sales. Subaru remains a second tier automobile company and they just don't have the financial or engineering resources to put out a truly beautiful and superior quality vehicle.

Toyota and Honda are the class leaders in quality and technology. I'm on my second Toyota Hybrid, and it's an incredible quality and dependable vehicle--getting incredible fuel mileage.
Toyota and Honda make great cars, but I don't agree that it's so black and white - this superiority you claim they have over Subaru. Subaru makes a better AWD system than Toyota (just ask Akio Toyoda) and a better ADAS system than Toyota.

That is not what most Subaru buyers are looking for.

Had that same complaint when the C6 came out looking an awful like the C5.

I won't be rushing to get out of the '22 for one of these. Don't see anything that looks different enough to make me even want to look.

Safety feature upgrades alone have me sold.

Mpg numbers have not been released yet. However, based on powertrain specs the mpg isn't likely to be substantially improved over the current models. I'd like to see combined mpg in the mid to upper 30s to make it more competitive with hybrid SUVs. The Forester only differs in mpg by 1 mpg and has a lot more room giving me little reason to choose a Crosstrek over a Forester or Outback.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. They put what customers care about, the 11.6" iPad tablet in. Otherwise it was pretty much what the customers wanted already so don't mess with it too much.

I'd love to see a them do a "Wilderness" spec of the Crosstrek, preferably with a the 2.4T although like the Forester that's pretty much a not going to happen. Forester Wilderness though with the tranny cooler bumps the towing up to 3,000 which is plenty for teardrop trailers whereas the standard 1,500 on the Crosstrek and regular Foresters is limiting.

Our take

For outdoor enthusiasts, the next-generation 2024 Crosstrek Sport and Limited trim levels with the new upgrades will be worth the wait. The extra power will get you up the mountain and further off the grid. According to a recent U.S. News report, the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek subcompact SUV is the most affordable new model. But it's only on the Crosstrek Base trim level, which is not the best value.

Definitely 100% not a PR schill job. The 2 extra torques will be very evident to all drivers. Don't forget to spend more on options. They're good value since the profit margin is higher on them. The 11.6 tablet screen really helps with pursuing your outdoor lifestyle goals

Crosstrek just like Jeeps are lifestyle cars I get it, I don't hate them. There were plenty of competition in the market but just not market the car the same way as Subaru has. Volvo and VW already waved the white flag in the segment. Just wished Subaru would strive to improve their cars more than the competition has. The WRX is a good example that it's fallen way behind the competition.
