It can't be just held in those two continents. Imagine the outrage if Olympics were limited those two. South America has yet to host the women's event despite hosting the men's five times.

No one in Fifa gives a rats butt about americans. Fifa ain't licking american's ass. They are licking saudi and other middle eastern butts because soccer is growing there and there is FAR more money there than the US has for soccer.

South America has come around. Prior to this world cup, only Peru expressed interest in 2011. But for this WC, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia sere interested. I would like to see a big for 2027 with multiple SA nations together as NZ and Aus did, and the US, Mexico, and Canada are doing for 2026. As a bonus, it would be way cheaper to get there. Flying to NZ is way too expensive.

The notion of caring about the USAs time zones for a world event is crazy.

Which is wild given the sponsorships that were affected by hosting it in Qatar. Just shows how much money talks.

48 nations. First increase since 1998.

Megan Rapinoe made me go from loving USWNT to not caring, and in fact, rooting against them. Nasty, nasty, nasty woman.

They are following exactly what has been done for decodes. Steadily increasing the size of the world cup. There were 13 invited to the first. The last expansion was in 1998. It did not go from 13 to 32. The world cup tradition is to increase the size of the tournament as the sport has grown in popularity around the world.
Soccer has been successful.

Also, American had NOTHING to do with this. Surely you realize America has little to no power in Fifa. South American and Europe control it completely. The expansion was of course related to the extra billion the increase in games will give. Every single thing you are complaining about comes entirely from Europe and Brazil. America had nothing to do with any of this. You are much like Jon Snow on this.

Everyone can have opinions, even ones as disgusting and fueled by hatred as yours. But go ahead and cheer against the US. Why would anyone care about your thoughts. I will continue to adore the team and in particular this wonderful strong leader of a woman and hope my daughter continues to be inspired by and follows in her footsteps. We've been to 5 of her camps over the years and she truly is a fantastic woman.

More nonsense. The misogyny of the soccer world against women in the past and the vast strides taken against it in part by true leaders like Rapinoe, Morgan, Sauerbrunn ... is clear to all. Moreover her fight for equal treatment for all people, even those hated enough to have stupid terms like "alphabet people" cast upon them, is as exciting as it was brave and strong. Its an honor to have her be asked back on this team by yet another great coach. People like her do much to overcome the embarrassment raised by persons like those making these posts.
