I think it's because we are here, and all things have the right to life. Humans are at the top of the food chain (in their own environment), however take the human out of their environment and they can quickly become a couple of steps below the top. Nature can be cruel, and after all, we are nothing more than just another species that habit this planet.

I like your definition of soul much better than the Christian definition.
At what point did we become human and it was wrong to kill each other?
When did human beings evolve a soul?
Well, we're killing each other by the thousands so apparently we're not quite human yet.
Question two, there's no such thing as a soul. It's completely make believe if you're talking about something that pops out of us when our body dies and goes on to have more adventures in the afterlife.
Like many others before me have stated, i do not believe that there is any part of me that will live on past death. I do not believe in the existance of the soul, and therefore has not evolved

I think i play devils advocate on this one, for the sake of argument.
The way this question is posed makes it sound as though it is inherently wrong to kill, or absolutly wrong. And we all know how tricky it can be dealing with absolutes.
So I guess i would ask is it always "wrong" to kill?
Less than 2% of our DNA.
Maybe the human soul is in that 1-2 percent? Dunno - Other than humans' higher cognitive functioning, I don't see much difference between them and chimps. We are very similar animals.
I'm no different than any of the many non-believers that post on here. Only thing is, apparently I'm getting on your nerves a bit because you simply cannot answer the question.
At what point does a human become human? What makes it immoral to murder another human being?
