People without a conscience = people who only care about themselves = soulless people.
I'm pretty sure that Kdbrich and Haaziq mean an immaterial part of you that survives physical death. I think Christian neo-Darwinists may say that god gave us a soul during the time of the first humans and other religious people who believe in evolution may say that every living thing has a soul.

Ah, I understand.
I don't believe in an afterlife ( nor do I believe in before life aka past life) but I do believe that the soul and a man's conscience are 1 and the same.
Yep, I agree with coos. When someone like kdbrich says "soul" he's meaning that mythical, nonexistent, immaterial consciousness that he believes survives after death and goes to live in everlasting ecstatic glory bowing down and worshipping a god-figure for all of eternity. Which is a load of fertilizer, but I digress...
Anyway, souls don't exist. Therefore they never evolved.

So what makes a human human? Is it wrong to murder? If not, why not? What separates humans from chimps?
Here's a little advice. Most of the atheists here (myself included) can't take anyone who resorts to this argument seriously. If you need a god or a holy book to tell you murder is wrong, it's obvious that you wouldn't be acting properly if you didn't believe. And for the record, morality has nothing to do with evolution. It's sociological.

Some differences in DNA.
I think we both know what's coming. The answer to these questions is going to be a "Soul" because it's a magical 4 letter word that is supposed to explain these incredibly complex philosophical questions without requiring any thought.

There are many reasons. Some philosophical, some political, and some sociological. Two right off the head.
1. It violates a human's right to life.
2. It's not productive for society.
And that's just two that came to me instantly.
The funny thing is a lot of theists ask questions that have answers. They just don't look for them. Do a little research of your own. It's beneficial.
