Everyone saw how the ray of light goes through a prism and fans into many colored tones. They are all that ray of light. yet, they are all different.
So is The Word of god, as single ray of light, and all the colorful opinions of HUMANS as interpretations.
You sound Sunni.
As I understand ( or don't understand) Sunnis tend to rely on the original text almost exclusively, whereas Shiite also use the various interpretations of scholars.
Naahh, I am not. What I am saying is applicable to ANY religion.
I consent to what OSHO said.
Any teaching is alive and vibrant in its disciples hearts ONLY while The Master is alive. He charges them with His energy and vibrations. The very moment Master is gone, only memories are left. They become like footprints in the sand, easily washed away by the waves. But THE SPIRIT of the teaching is gone.
BTW, for many many years, there was no written Q"Ran. There was only oral tradition, that was EXACT word of the Prophet. Of course, later on, humans decided that they know better....

It is the same i think for all religious texts. Sound is sacred. The vedas have very specific meter and ways of chanting that is passed on orally. This is so that the words don’t change or mispronounced, and cause mistakes in meaning. A slight variation can entirely change the meaning.
Memorizing the texts is the first and important act. The meaning that emanates is also Divinity, and when understood completely by a mature mind, becomes knowledge.
Correct.
This is why you must chant Q'Ran in the original language of The Prophet. It is God's word, for pete's sake, and who is a mortal luny human, to change it? Likewise, in Judaism, there is the oral tradition that, by some, is considered superior to the written one.
The Word is The Creator
Pay attention:
John 1 :: NIV. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
Think: To be with god, the word already has to exist. Not sure, why "him or he" is used for the "word", but it's ok, another example how interpretations twist the meaning. But, what I am pointing out. The Word was BEFORE the god and used god for creation.
Also, to follow our discussion, this shows, how much The Word is more important, than even god itself or, any written document. The Word is THE ESSENCE, the blueprint.
Also, one does not need to understand a language, to speak a holy tradition. For the spiritual side, all languages are understood and their meaning - realized.
