I think you are right. Most importantly in the matter of doctrines. Boy howdy how ANY variance from the accepted formulae causes closed minds! A little laughter would be a breath of fresh air.
But now I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.
I agree with ya. But the alternative is accepting no truth. no goal. i don't think that's good for us smart apes as a whole ... yet that is. How terrible could it get with "there is no truth.'? levels and rows , levels and rows, looks like the best we can do for now.

lmao, believe it or not, I call then formula literalist. They can't get past e=mc2 to see "life".
I believe that truth is something that can be usefully approached but not objectively and finally attained. There is therefore no such thing as capital-T Truth.
Truth (basically, societal consensus about what comprises the set of data that constitutes established fact) is relative, contextual, and therefore only relatively and contextually "objective". It is fostered by how fully one apprehends the corpus of data that is available on a topic, the effectiveness of the epistemological approach to that data, the (il)logic of one's handling of the data.
Given that most people have their thought processes riven with failed epistemologies such as religious faith, and do not even really make self-awareness and other-centeredness a priority, the light of truth in the world, such as it is, tends to be a guttering candle more often than a roaring bonfire. Particularly in these dark times, when the darker angels of our nature are reasserting themselves. I was out of town over the weekend, pretty much disconnected and out of touch, and literally checked the morning news today to make sure we're not at nuclear war (yet). So it goes ...
Yes...I agree mordant.
This is why, no matter what it is we assess, analyze, or think that we "know"...it all comes down to greater or lesser degrees of Faith and Belief in the level of probability as to how meritorious and valid it really is.
If you say you know the Truth with a capital T what are you referring to?
Or if you're someone who reads the Truth on here, what does it mean to you?
The Truth is, all of us are One. All of us are God. This was why Jesus died, it was believed as a heresy by the Jews. And today's atheists don't want it because the mistakenly believe that knowing about God will somehow enslave them to rules. No. The Truth Shall Set You Free.
Jesus didn't lie about being the Truth. The church lied about him being The Truth (as in, the only way is by joining the church). The Truth is, once you understand that God (AKA "the kingdom of Heaven") is among and/or within us, the only actual commandment is to live your life well.
You who read this are given a gift. Depart from here. Keep what I said secret, or tell others. Go to church, or rest on Sunday, your life is yours to use as you want.
