The language and premise of the opening post---attack defend convince oppose debate argue----reveals a mind set and motivation and intention. It is one of conflict, contention, discord and fighting; and not peace, harmony and unity. It is win-lose instead of win-win.

This Debate is on "The Existence Of God".

What argument(s) (as far as Evidence For The Existence Of God is concerned), would you present to the "Opposition" in your attempt(s) to "convince" them that there are Sound reasons to believe in God's existence?

I can't play this game, because I can't think of a single argument that holds a drop of water. That's why I'm an atheist, after all.

I get what you're trying to do, and I'll be interested to see whether anyone can come up with something on the atheist side, but me? Can't do it.

(I fully understand all the emotional arguments that lead people to espouse god.)

2. Imagine for a moment or two that you're an Atheist
Imagine that you're Online (City-Data.com probably). You're in the same Debate as presented in
Part 1 above.

What argument(s) would you present to the "Opposition", in your attempt(s) to "convince" them that there are Good reasons to not believe or to suspend belief (in God's existence)....until convincing evidence shows up?

Sincere arguments (and opinions) from both sides will be appreciated.
I only do how the universe works. It works the way it works.

When people insert personal need for explaining why it works that way I tend to lean on psychology at that point to help them out.

I don't debate, but as a person who knows God up close and personal:
I would say to the Christian ...'Why believe in something you have not seen?
Follow the instructions first...see God...then talk to me about 'Him'. Bye.''

I would say to the Atheist:as I have to my Ex...'Oh, you are smart...why would you believe in a 'God' that you have not experienced...because
someone told you there was one?
When you experience 'Him', Who has no gender, yourself, then you will see for yourself'.
"I respect you more than those that go spouting a bunch of concepts
only having blind faith and other people's misinterpretations and misconceptions from years ago.'

Who cares if a person believes or doesn't ...it's the ones that know I recognize...
the ones that have seen...for sure.

Hope this is not off topic, too much...but i am surrounded by atheists and I am a 'believer'...so
felt I qualified to add my perspective.

Interesting topic.
As i said in another thread...it is hard for the left logical brain to understand the right intuitive brain ...and vice versa...but they can come together in balance...but as I see it...still only when a direct experience overwhelms the right side....so the left can not deny it and attempts with innocence to understand, ''what the heck just happened''??
